Royals...Soria and Gordon's Status

Royals closer and starting third baseman Alex Gordon move closer to their return.  Soria who has been on the disabled list since April 18th has thrown light bull pen sessions lately and feels good.  The Royals expect to see him back in early June.

Third baseman Alex Gordon is still rehabbing his surgically repaired hip.  Gordon who had surgery on April 17 took his first light swings of a bat back on April 22nd and scheduled to for a follow up exam sometime this week to set a time table for his return.

No Damage On MRI, Soria Expect's to be Back in 15 Days

Royals All-Star closer Joakim Soria has been reported to have no damage done to his shoulder according x-rays and an MRI.  Soria who was placed on the 15-day DL for a sore shoulder this week expects to be back as soon as the DL time is complete.

As to when will Soria be able to begin throwing again, manager Trey Hillman has been quoted to saying "Not until the inflammation goes down". "We're looking at some different exercises for his shoulder, but nothing more than that".

The Royals placed Soria on the 15-day disabled list after the 4 to 3 loss against the Angels on Saturday. Soria should be available to return around May 23 right smack dab in the middle of the I-70 series with St. Louis.
