Sources: Tyson Jackson and Chiefs agree to a Contract

8/7/2009

Sources are indicating that the Kansas City Chiefs and first round pick Tyson Jackson have agreed in principal on a 5 year deal for over $55 million.

Reports say Jackson will become the highest annually paid player in Chiefs history, netting over $10 million per season (yes, higher than Matt Cassel), with around $29 million in guarantees.  Jackson who was the 3rd over-all selection in this year’s first year player draft is said to be reporting to River Falls today and be on the practice field either in the first or second session.

With Jackson signed, the Chiefs will have a full roster on hand for the first time this offseason.  It is unsure yet if Jackson has or will have to pass the conditioning test before he can practice or what all he will have to do before he can join full squad practices.

Other Chiefs news, the Chiefs will hold a full squad inter-team scrimmage this Saturday at 2:00PM Central Time.
