Sources: Royals Close to Signing Crow

According to Buster Olney Baseball Insider for ESPN.com, the Kansas City Royals are close to signing their 2009 first round draft pick pitcher Aaron Crow.The former Missouri Tiger was selected 12th overall by the Royals and had spent all of last year in the Independent League after he failed to sign with the Washington National in 2008. Sources indicate that the Royals will pay Crow somewhere between $3 million to $4.5 million.
The quicker Crow gets into the system (speculation as soon as he signs will report straight to instructional league) the faster he may have a chance to contribute to the Royals sometime next season.
